I’m a big fan of classic styles with an subtle twist so I already know that these will become a firm evening wear wardrobe staple for me. I love the addition of the cork, it’s subtle ice-cream sandwich look from the side and the extra bit of height it gives, especially helpful for wearing with linen trousers, maxi skirts, long dresses or just simply for wearing with skirts and mini-skirts/dresses to elongate the leg.

Free People’s Malibu Surf Set £68 ( L )

I have two of these sets and every time I wear them somebody asks me where they’re from. I tuck the waistband over once to make the shorts a bit shorter and tuck the front of the jumper in ever so slightly to elongate my legs, remember when you are wearing something and you can’t see the crotch then where the hemline ends is where your body is going to be chopped in to - less so if your top and bottom half is a similar / same colour ( more on this another time )
