Angie's EDIT #124
the jeans that are on my list to try, a western shirt, baseball jacket and embroidered shirt that I would like in my wardrobe immediately and the 2 designer bags on my radar for this season . . . .
We are two weeks into 2026 and while it feels like the rest of the world is ‘back at it’ I am still OOO. The school system in Sydney doesn’t start again until February and Dusty’s daycare is in ‘that system’, so I’ve relocated to be with my parents on the Sunshine Coast and it’s exactly that. The temp in and out of the water is a decent 3-5c higher than Sydney, and the humidity levels have been having fun with my hair – honestly I’ve never seen anything like it. Luckily our days are spent between the beach, river, park and discovering what this beautiful coastline and hinterland have to offer. Granda (my dad hails from Motherwell, Scotland, and was very specific that he was to drop the ‘d’) bought a beach cart which has now turned into the ‘buggy’ that Dusty never wanted a bar of past 18 months. It has made life so much easier, and I can quickly get him to the beach early doors, which is my favourite thing to do.
The best bit, after not having my family around since Dusty was born (they previously lived in Somerset), is that I’ve been able to relax a bit, meals have been made, washing done, I’ve even walked back into my room a few times and the beds been made. Most of all though, Dusty has extra care, which means I’m able to grab a moment like this to work or walk or do something for MYSELF, it’s been a while. It’s also given me time to reflect on what I want to carry forward this year, especially since I’ve been up here, living in swimwear and shorts (or a sarong), daily. Simplicity has always spoken to me, in my wardrobe and my home. I want to feel clam, and what I wear and touch to feel nice – I didn’t realise until recently how many of my wardrobe choices are sensory based. It’s almost as if I don’t want to be reminded that I’m wearing clothes after I’ve put them on, which is probably why my forever pieces are always cottons, linens, silks, cashmere, wool – all natural. Having reminded myself of all of that, I wanted to keep this week’s edit basic; a straight up swoop of the best bits that I’ve found online this week when I’ve been sitting on my parents porch with a cold drink and a moment to think.
