Euro summer meets back to school classics in equal measure, the perfect black trousers for the office and the tops and shoes I'd want to wear with them . . . .

I’m writing this from the Sunshine Coast, where we’ve run away to, in a bid to escape the cold and it’s been glorious. I’ve managed 2 solo walks and a swim, which is more than I have in months thank goodness for grandparents, I even managed to catch up on some work and life admin. We are here for my dad’s 72nd birthday and celebrated with a spot of whale watching early today. My parents moved to Australia last year and although were originally meant to be living in Sydney but I’m really happy they landed somewhere a bit warmer, as when we visit, which we do often it feels like a proper holiday.

First time in a swimsuit on a beach in months and it was JOYFUL

Pre-dip in the best one piece (L) and then the fun arrived : ) and my mum’s camera!

I mean it could be a painting right ?

Tomorrow it’s jumpers back on as we fly to Sydney as Dusty has pre-school on a Monday and Tuesday which are my official work and everything else days. I remember reading the 4 hour week when I was at uni and seriously in the last year it’s come in pretty handy although I’m not sure it was really aimed at creatives, I’m getting so much better at saying no though which has been a blessing in disguise and as I type this I have another tab open looking at flights for us to return asap.

This week’s edit has a lot of back to school elements to it as it won’t be long before September rolls around. That’s the strange bit about writing this from the other side of the world when the vast majority of your followers are from the UK, half the time I’m dressing for a completely different season to the one you’re actually living in apart from Spring and Autumn which as weirdly quite similar. So this week is a bit of both: pieces that’ll see you through the last stretch of a British summer, and a few quietly nodding towards the cooler months, because they’ll be here before you know it.

I've spent the last 20 years as a stylist -dressing people for the telly, the red carpet, all of it. The Times once called me "the most powerful woman on the high street" (their words, not mine!), but really it just means I've learned that most of us don't need more clothes, we need the right ones. That's the whole idea behind Angie's Edit: a weekly newsletter, now with over 9,000 subscribers, where I round up the pieces actually worth your money. No fast fashion, no chasing trends - just the stuff that earns its place in your wardrobe and gets worn on repeat. Come and join us.
