Angie's EDIT #51
Thoughts on finding your style, the pants to wear with this Summer's drop waist dresses, my new silky shorts and the nude sheer trousers that I love but couldn't get over my ass . . . .
I looked at my wardrobe recently, to be exact it was when I was packing for a weekend away with Dusty that I realised how much my own personal style has evolved since he was born and how I feel like I am in a good place with it now. I’m definitely a bit of a lazy dresser by heart and I’m very sensitive to how things feel, so when I find something that looks good and feels good then it’s something I reach for often, to the point of over-wearing. It’s with that idea that my style has developed, in the past few years if there’s been something that I’ve enjoyed wearing and I see the same item in another colour then I won’t think too long about buying it, depending on my bank balance. I feel like the quickest way to a hard working wardrobe is to first work out which shapes look good on you body, the best way to do this in all honesty is to try on lots and shoot videos, basically what I do a lot of now, it’s really surprised me how much that’s helped me work out what feels and looks right on my body. Once you have your shapes established then play with colour, just like painting its all about where you place the colour, what you draw focus to, what you want to take the attention away from, obviously you can do that with shape too. If you haven’t had you colours done ( I haven’t) I keep meaning too, there’s a real science to it. But I feel like I can see instantly when a colour works or doesn’t on me, even down to something like white and all the tones in that area. It’s actually pretty amazing the difference in your whole complexion when you try on a white t-shirt and then an off white or slightly creamier t-shirt, I would always opt for the warm white / off whites, anything too cold on me really shines a light on how little sleep I’ve had and I find that pure white is always after a holiday when typically I have more colour to my skin and are hopefully looking well rested.
Waffle over here’s this weeks top 20 pieces that I’ve spotted online or have tried on and kept, including the dress above which was part of some paid work that I did with FP but I wanted to share on here as well as it’s a goody.
1/
Before you skip past a drop waist for Summer, let me tell you that it’s all about investing in the right underwear, these are the pants that I swear by that come up just under you belly button also like the look of these and btw this dress always comes in 5 more colours including black / Free People (M)
2/ These are exactly the sort of pants that are always sold out by the time I decide that they aren’t too crazy for me and I should have actually bought them, I’m a work in progress / Adidas L
3/ I’m going to be thinking about this and will probably end up searching for it when I see it on someone else and wonder why I didn’t just buy it as I really love it Adidas / L
4/ Every single item that I’ve bought from LESET I have worn so much (as I mentioned above - shape and feel, both on point with this brand. So I feel confident buying something from them if I like the look of them Leset / L
5/ She’s back in stock / Sezane
